Ellie’s Magical Cat is a fantasy fiction story written by James Goddard and published in the year 2022. The story follows a lady named Ellie who is going through the passing away of the love of her life Hugo to whom she was happily married for years.
Left alone, she gets a cat to accompany her and fill the vacuum created by his husband Hugo. It is a passionate love tale that keeps you entertained till the end.
The book cover gave me some real fairy tale vibes. It was the juxtaposition between the life she lived and the life she was living. The cat is represented as the man on the cover which is a twist you got to know after reading it. It is a really exciting and soothing tale of a woman who lost her husband but not completely.

We all have heard that “ If you want something with all your heart, the whole world conspires to make it happen”. Dreams have power and this proved accurate for Ellie who dreamt of her late husband and her dreams came true through her cat.
Setting ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It revolves around a couple Ellie and Hugo who met through their shared love of dancing. They danced together and were living a happy married life for several years. They grow old together but one unfortunate day Hugo passed away and left Ellie with their memories and photographs to remember him.
Later Ellie gets a cat whom she named after her husband Hugo because according to her they both have similar grey hair. The cat accompanies her everywhere, little did she know that many adventures are waiting for her with her cat or with Hugo.
Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The plot was really exciting and fun. The story has a twist when Ellie was dreaming about his husband and suddenly a patch of light comes through the window and touches the cat’s shadow and the magic happens.
The magic was beyond imagination, her cat turned into Hugo and everything around came alive. They danced all night, they roamed everywhere they shared memories of the past. It doesn’t happen once it happens again and again. She waited every night for him and surprisingly he appeared every night and enjoyed their love for dancing.
Writing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
When it comes to readability, it was an interesting and emotional read for me. Based on the author’s fantasy, the characters were really creative, and sometimes you feel related to the emotions Ellie has inside.
I finished the book in less than an hour. Overall it was fun to read such a heartwarming book.

If we discuss the storyline this book appeals to every age group whether you are a child or a teenager you will love to read this short and sweet story. Losing someone you only have is an inexpressible pain that many of us hide inside and Ellie was among us. If you are a fiction lover then go for this book and if you are into non-fiction this book will make you feel some raw emotions.

His inspiration for writing books came from the patterns he noticed in the principles of movement in martial arts, yoga, and other dance styles.
