Book Review: Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds is his latest novel releasing in October 2017. The whole novel, Long Way Down, unfolds the 60 seconds of a fifteen-year-old kid in an elevator after his brother is murdered. Jason has written Long Way Down entirely in verse which makes it very intriguing.

The story of Long Way Down begins when Will enters the elevator with a gun on the seventh floor. His brother is murder and Will is being followed by someone. As the elevator goes down, on each floor, someone connected to his brother boards and reveals a bigger story. Every character brings a clever plot twist and connects the small pieces of the story in order.

The thing that makes Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds interesting is the fact there is a continuous suspense on every floor. And, if Will gets off at any floor than the end of the story could never be told. Long Way Down is filled with murder, suspense and thrill weaved into an impressive web of words.

This is a pre-release review of Long Way Down by Jason Reynold. It will be updated after the release date i.e. 17 Oct 2017.
